Can I use a timer during my lesson?
You are welcome to use a timer during your lesson if it's helpful for you. Keep in mind your interviewer will provide you with a one-minute timing warning and will let you know when your five minutes are up. However, if you would like to use your cell phone or a timer to keep a more detailed eye on the time, you may do so.

You can teach a five minute lesson in any subject area to any grade level ages pre-K-12. All lessons should have an objective, and you'll have one minute to prep and five minutes to teach.
What can I teach during my lesson?
You should imagine yourself as a teacher that is leading a lesson in one of the core subject areas that our corps members are typically placed in. Our only criteria are:
- You must designate a specific grade level from PreK through 12th grade
- You must select one specific subject area (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies)
- Your lesson must have a clear objective--what are you trying to achieve with your students?
