Steps to Becoming a Corps Member

  • 1. Apply Online

Fill out and submit your online application to join the corps during one of our five application windows.

  • 2. Sign Up & Prepare for Your Interview

If invited to take part in our interview process, you’ll need to complete some additional pre-interview steps, upload your official transcripts, and sign up for an in-person or virtual interview. Learn more about our application and interview process.

  • 3. Attend Your Interview

During your interview, you will prepare and teach a five-minute sample lesson, take part in a group activity, and have a one-on-one interview at the end of the day. Learn more about how to prepare for your interview.

  • 4. Select Where & What You Want to Teach

After your interview, you’ll have the opportunity to research and select your location, grade, and subject preferences in the Applicant Center. You can use our compare regions tool to help you select the locations best fit for you.

  • 5. Acceptance

Within two weeks of interviewing and submitting your preferences, you’ll find out your acceptance status and regional and subject placement. You’ll then have about 10 days to decide whether or not the TFA corps is right for you. Learn more about life in the corps.
