Which graduate schools does TFA partner with?
Teach For America has partnerships with graduate schools across the country.
Where can I find information about available jobs through the TFA network?
You can use our online platform, Career Connect to search for and apply to jobs shared by employers who are specifically interested in recruiting TFA alumni. Many of our partner employers are fellow alumni.
I’m not receiving any TFA communications. How can I be put on your mailing list?
If you want to resubscribe to national and/or regional communications, you can do so by submitting this form.
I’ve recently relocated. How can I update my address?
To update your address or any other personal information, sign into teachforamerica.org and click on your profile in the top right corner. You will be able to update your contact info in your profile and click save.
Where can I find contact info for other corps members, alumni, and staff?
You can use TFA Career Connect to search for and connect with other corps members, alumni, and staff who are also on the platform.
What if I no longer have access to the email address I used to log in to TFA.org?
You can use your expired email address to log into TFA.org. However, you won't be able to reset your password if you've forgotten it. Contact us if this is the case.
Once you are signed in, we recommend that you edit your TFA.org profile and update your sign-in ID, so you can reset your password in the future.
What if my GPA is below 2.50?
Due to school districts and hiring requirements, Teach For America requires that all applicants maintain an undergraduate cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 both at the time of application and at graduation. Admitted candidates whose final average falls below 2.50 will forego their positions in Teach For America. Graduate GPAs cannot be used or averaged in with undergraduate GPAs, nor can additional undergraduate courses completed after the date of graduation.
What if I want to complete my certification at a non-partnering program?
Your ability to do this will depend on the region. Even if it is permitted in your region, generally corps members do not choose to complete certification at a non-partnering program. If your region allows you to choose a separate program, you would need to apply to the program on your own and independently track that you are meeting alternative certification legal requirements.
Will I need to pass certain tests in order to be hired by a school district?
Yes, (with limited exceptions) our corps members must pass at least one certification test to be eligible to teach. If you are admitted to the corps, your region will work with you on test preparation. Corps members who don't pass the exam may need to retake the test in time for the start of the school year.
