Answers to Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the subjects I'm interested in teaching not appearing for the regions I want to select?

If a particular subject area isn't listed for a region, this means that either you are not qualified to teach that subject in this region, based on state/district criteria and the coursework you entered on your Classroom and Region Eligibility tool, or the region isn't placing corps members in this subject area for the upcoming school year.

How do I enter Advanced Placement (AP) coursework?

You should only enter an AP course if your school gave you credit for it and if the specific subject for which you received credit appears on your transcript. For example, if you passed the AP History exam and your school gave you nine history credits which appear on your transcript, you should enter this AP coursework. If your school just gave you general credit, you should not enter this AP coursework.

What if I took a course a second time to earn a better grade? Should I enter this course twice?

If credit was only given the second time you took the class, then you should only enter this course one time, and include the credits for the second time you took it.

If you received credit for the course both times that you took it, you should enter it twice, and enter the credits that appear on your transcript for each entry.
