How will my interviewer engage during different portions of my interview?
The Teach For America final interview is a unique experience that requires applicants to prepare differently than for a traditional interview. Find the main components of the interview experience below with context on what to expect from your interviewer during that time.
What can I do now to prepare for the case activity?
If invited to an interview, detailed instructions about how to prepare will be available to you in the Applicant Center. At that time, we ask applicants to review the provided instructions and a linked data set to prepare a proposal that they will share with their interviewer. Therefore, until you have a scheduled interview, there isn't anything to prepare.
Should I prepare resources or bring anything specific to the case activity portion of the interview?
Prepared resources are not required, however we encourage you to prepare in whatever way makes sense for you! Therefore, this could look like a PowerPoint presentation or well thought out talking points. We welcome you to use your creativity but also keep in mind that this portion of the interview typically takes no more than 10 minutes total.

How long should my proposal presentation be?
Your proposal will need to be shared within approximately 3-5 minutes. Your proposal can be presented in any format that feels right to you—verbal presentation, PowerPoint, Word document, etc. You will not be evaluated on how you share your proposal with the interviewer. Your interviewer will first ask you to share your proposal.
Based on what you share, your interviewer will ask you follow-up questions for an additional 3-5 minutes. You do not need to prepare anything for the follow-up questions.
