Teach For America - Dallas-Fort Worth officially launched its alumni program this February with the charge to strengthen and deepen alumni impact toward educational equity in North Texas. The team aims to support alumni to make a deeper influence in their “Impact Pathways”—Educational Leadership, Public Leadership, Social Sector Leadership, and Community Leadership.

Below are a few recent examples of how this program is helping TFA alumni strengthen their impact in the region:

School Systems Leaders Summit

The 2018 School Systems Leaders Summit was a three-day event for TFA alumni senior leaders from across the state to connect, develop leadership skills, and build coalitions together while in Austin, TX. School and systems leaders from all Texas regions gathered to learn the design process, network with other leaders, and provide consultation for TEA’s Educator & System Support team. Alumni also learned about opportunities to expand their impact on the state of Texas. Learn more about the summit.

Destined For DFW

Eighteen TFA alumni from around the country gathered in North Texas from March 23 - 25 for Destined For DFW, a recruitment and hiring weekend for alumni interested in school leadership. Alumni explored the educational leadership opportunities that exist in DFW with various school districts—Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Arlington ISD, KIPP, Uplift Education, and Trinity Basin Preparatory.
