On April 22, our community gathered to celebrate our educators, students and families at our One Week for One Day live virtual event. This virtual event enables Teach For America to find, support, and develop the educators and leaders students will need on the other side of the pandemic.

You can watch the entire 30-minute program below.

One Week for One Day: Full Program

During the event, we heard how Butler College Prep poetry teacher Brittanee Rolle empowered her student Tashia to find her voice as a Black female journalist with pride in her South Side community, and how KIPP Academy Primary principal Jarell Lee led a school founded on love, joy, and community through unprecedented times with unwavering conviction.

We also heard Teach For America founder and Teach For All founder and CEO Wendy Kopp share the way she has seen innovative leaders around the world transform outcomes for students during the pandemic.

“We’ve learned that we really can ensure that all kids have an opportunity to thrive. It’s simply a question of whether we’re going to have enough leadership.”
