A Surprise Back-to-School Clap-In

When teachers and staff members arrived at Raul Yzaguirre Middle School in San Juan, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley's Pharr-San Juan-Alamo School District on Aug. 22, they were met with a surprise: Students, school leaders, and community members had lined up to cheer and clap for them. The gathering, sponsored by Teach For America, celebrated and thanked teachers for their hard work and dedication as they embark on a new school year.

Help Support Our New Teachers as They Begin Their Journey

In communities across the country, we are celebrating the incredible, challenging, and inspirational work that educators and students are taking on in the new school year.
