A young student stands outside of his school building.

In the 10 years since establishing Teach For America in the Twin Cities region, we have worked alongside our partners to create opportunities for students in our most underserved communities.

We place passionate, competent, and diverse teachers trained in equity-based pedagogy in high-needs schools. We ensure they receive mentorship, coaching, and ongoing training, and are dedicated to tackling systems of inequity. We know that teachers are the most impactful school-based influence on student outcomes

We develop mid-career teachers with a commitment to educational equity so they may serve as Twin Cities’ school, system, community, and district leaders. Individuals who lead our schools, networks, and districts also have a direct influence on student outcomes.

We enact lasting systemic change to the Twin Cities’ education system by addressing poverty and racism, by bringing new approaches to how services are provided, and by advocating for shifts in state policies and priorities.

Our target is to close the opportunity gap, not just for underserved students, but systematically, so that those students grow to become the next generation of teachers and voices for change in their own communities.
