Meet some of our fellows!
Lizzie (Oklahoma City ‘18): I earned my undergraduate degree at Seattle Pacific University and my Masters in Education at Johns Hopkins University. I just started my fifth year teaching and my third year at my current school in Bothell. I’ve taught both 4th and 5th in the elementary setting.
Nancy: This is my 6th year teaching History at Davis High School in Yakima (where I graduated from in 2010). My B.A. is in Political Science from CWU, and my master's is from Gonzaga in education. I was born in Autlan, Jalisco, but my family decided to move to the US when I was four years old in hopes of a better future. I am currently on DACA and while a relief, this produces a lot of anxiety in my daily life.
Evelin (Washington '20): I have been teaching 3rd grade in Yakima, WA for two years. Working in education has allowed me to apply undergraduate studies in environmental science, global health, and food studies. I practice yoga, meditation, and hiking to connect, reflect, and grow. I see all of my identities, including educator, sister, Latina, partner, friend, as essential to connecting with the communities I collaborate with. Justice, liberation, and love are what I work towards always.
