Becoming Certified to Teach

Georgia’s certifying body, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC), requires that all teachers who do not yet have a teaching certificate be enrolled and in good standing within a Georgia-approved certification program.

You must complete your certification program in Georgia over the course of your two-year commitment.

Costs

Depending on the program, certification can cost approximately $5,000 to $15,000. 

Master's Degree Option

You have the option to pursue a master's degree through Georgia State University.
