Teach For America recruits, develops, and supports exceptional and diverse leaders who transform education and expand opportunities for children, beginning in the classroom. With regional hubs in Jacksonville, Central Florida, and Miami-Dade, hundreds of our corps members and alumni are working to improve the quality of teaching and education in high-need communities across the state of Florida.
Since 2008, Teach For America Jacksonville educators have impacted over 1 million students across Duval County alone. As “One Florida,” the full TFA Florida team is committed to growing impact with students across Central Florida and cultivating community partnerships in cities like Orlando and Tampa to accelerate impact.

Once you get to know them, as time goes on, you realize that they are more than just your students. You really have to be there for them for many different reasons. You will have good days and bad days, but once you leave the day knowing you gave it all for them is a good feeling.”

Alumni Leadership
Transforming education requires a broad and diverse coalition of people united around shared values and purpose, and our focus is on leveraging networks to pursue and achieve systems-level change. We do this by developing, supporting, and tracking the degree to which our alumni are making purposeful change in the area; engaging with and initiating programs or policies locally; and connecting with each other, our community, and our network to achieve maximum impact.
