During Accelerate, I became very in tune with the importance of place when it comes to educational equity work. When entering a community that you are not familiar with, it is extremely important to understand the way in which social, political, and economic systems work.

Working along like-minded, passionate, and intelligent people fueled me to understand my role in leveling the education playing field. Accelerate is the intellectual summer camp you never knew existed. 

Accelerate helped me develop a recognition of how my identity and my leadership style uniquely impact environments around me.

As a fellow, I was able to learn from TFA alumni who have shown a lifelong commitment to educational equity by opening schools, running nonprofits for youth, or working within their local school systems.
