Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) opened its new facility in downtown Miami overlooking Biscayne Bay in the fall of 2013. Situated in Museum Park, PAMM's new and expanded facility includes the Knight Education Center with a library, studio classrooms, a media lab and seminar rooms to support innovative education programs. In January, PAMM teamed up with Teach For America Miami-Dade to help spread the word among our educators of the amazing opportunities available to you! Check them out below with information on how to sign up:

Knight Schools Program

PAMM provides K-12 students with experiences that create interactive learning opportunities about art to help build critical thinkers. Students are invited to experience the art of our time and engage with ideas about our communities. All school programs encourage the skills of the Florida State Standards, particularly in English Language Arts and the Core Visual Arts Standards

School Tours

PAMM offers Miami-Dade County Public Schools free transportation, free museum admission and free guided visits. School tours are led by Teaching Artists who offer students opportunities to critically engage with modern and contemporary art and practice skills encouraged in the Florida State Standards. Guided museum visits are offered Monday through Friday mornings. For more information, email education@pamm.org, or sign up using their School Tour Request Form.

Self-Guided Visits

Admission fees are waived for high school classes who want to self-guide. Teachers must schedule their visit through the museum's education department one week in advance. Self-guided visits are limited to groups of 40, and one chaperone is required for every 10 students. Contact eduation@pamm.org to schedule.

Educator Workshops and Studio Retreats

Educator workshops and studio programs explore creative pedagogy and ideas for integrating the arts across curriculum subjects. Workshops are scheduled throughout the school year and include art-making, gallery discussions and opportunities to connect with colleagues. M-DCPS teachers are eligible to receive master plan points. Stay up to date on the next educator workshop information by visiting PAMM's webpage: http://www.pamm.org/learn/educator/educator-professional-development
