Teach For America Phoenix is honored to be selected as the nonprofit partner of this year’s Build FORE Good event. Every year, golf enthusiasts from around the Valley gather at Kitchell’s annual tournament, taking place this year on November 8, 2019. In partnership with Hardison/Downey Construction, Kitchell raises money and donates 100 percent of the revenue to a local nonprofit organization. Last year alone, the tournament raised over $60,000. We are humbled and grateful for this opportunity.

Kitchell is one of Teach For America Phoenix’s most dedicated partners. For the past 16 years, Kitchell has supported our work, ensuring we can bring exceptional leaders to classrooms across the valley. CEO James Swanson is a well-known education advocate in the business community of Phoenix and currently volunteering his leadership as the Board Chair of Teach For America Phoenix.

Teach For America is a leadership development organization that recruits remarkable, diverse college graduates and professionals to teach for at least two years in low-income communities, and supports them as lifelong leaders and advocates working from every sector and field to increase educational opportunities for students. Teach For America has had a presence in Phoenix since 1994. Currently, there are 592 Teach For America corps members and alumni teaching in Arizona’s schools with 1,100 alumni working across sectors to expand opportunities for children and families.
