  • Desire to work alongside K-12 students to positively impact their learning, growth and sense of belonging.
  • Interest in and knowledge of Teach For America’s mission working to create educational excellence for all children.
  • Ability to build relationships across lines of difference.
  • Evidence of fulfilling commitments with a strong orientation to learning and self reflection.
  • Ability to organize schedule to participate in training, onboarding, and Fellowship readiness prior to the start of tutoring with students.

Our Program is Tailored to Your Goals

Setting us apart other tutoring programs, we customize your Ignite program to focus on what matters most to your school.

Program at a Glance

  • Customized vision for impact: You choose your school’s strategic focus area (reading, math, or post-secondary access)
  • Learning coherence: School-based curriculum and assessments
  • School-based: A veteran educator at the school serves as the Ignite site leader, onboarding  ~12 fellows to school culture and curriculum 
  • Integrated into your schedule: During school hours
  • Meaningful dosage: At least three times per week, for at least two hours per week
  • Consistent relationships each semester: 1 virtual fellow + 2-3 students in person
  • Near peers: Fellows are exceptional and equity minded college students
