Salaries range from $38,000-$53,000 for new teachers in our Massachusetts partner schools.

Corps members are independently hired by local schools or districts. While we do facilitate the hiring and certification process, corps members are ultimately responsible for obtaining certification and employment, and are not paid by Teach For America.

Rent varies significantly by sub-region—the South Coast and Western Massachusetts sub-regions are significantly less expensive than Greater Boston. Within the Greater Boston sub-region, rents are typically more expensive in the city of Boston and Cambridge.

Transportation

Given the demands of a teaching schedule and the geographic diversity of our partner schools, we highly recommend that corps members bring a car or plan to purchase one at the beginning of the school year. We will not take access to a car into consideration when determining hiring with schools and districts.
