Las Vegas is home to countless exciting sights, sounds, and destinations—there’s undoubtedly something for everyone in the region.
From 1990-2010, Clark County (home to Las Vegas) experienced an unprecedented population boom that tripled the student body from 100,000 to more than 300,000, and made Clark County the fifth largest school district in the nation. With it came exciting opportunities, but also large-scale challenges. We're a tight-knit, diverse community trying to help lead our community towards a new education landscape that provides all our kids a great education.
Las Vegas is more than it seems, and while the world-famous Strip offers plenty of exciting things to do, you’ll also have the opportunity to get to know the close-knit and growing community. You can join corps members, alumni, and school and business leaders at community dinners where people often build lasting friendships, or take part in live and virtual education town halls where challenging topics are discussed and resolved. Living in Las Vegas truly means having the best of both worlds—the amenities of a world-class city and the comforts and camaraderie of a small town.
Las Vegas is part of the beautiful Mojave Desert, which offers stunning landscapes and views. Spend time hiking mountains, including Red Rock Canyon and Mount Charleston, or horseback riding, snowboarding, and mountain biking. At the same time, Las Vegas remains a destination for people from around the world because of the fantastic restaurants, live shows, and entertainment.
“I never accepted the idea that someone like me, with my background, was an exception when it came to my accomplishments.”

Clark County School District
Since 2004, we’ve partnered with Clark County School District, the fifth largest district in the nation. Recently, CCSD’s Board of Trustees approved a three-year agreement to hire up to 175 Teach For America teachers per year. We place teachers at more than 50 Title I schools in the district across a range of high-need subject areas.
