Catherine Marcus Rose is a Dallas native. She has served as a trustee of the Dallas Museum of Art since 2001 and is currently chairing the Museum's Building Committee. Previously, she served as co-chairman, with the late Robert Hoffman, of the Museum’s Campaign for A New Century that raised over $185 million for the DMA, including $27 million for a pioneering new education initiative, the Center for Creative Connections. She has also co-chaired significant fundraising events benefiting the DMA: 2x2 for AIDS and Art in 2007 and the Art Ball in 2013. She and her husband, Will Rose, have been active in the DMA since 1994 when they were married in the Museum and have supported education, exhibition and acquisition initiatives.
 
Rose has previously served as a member of the Advisory Board of Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts where she was actively involved in the campaign to raise funds for the new high school and co-chaired the school’s opening festivities in 2008.
 
She has served on jury panels for the NEA (Visual Arts) as well as FACIE, the Federal Advisory Committee on International Exhibitions, which recommends the US representative artists for various international biennials, including the Venice Biennale.
 
She is deeply committed to early childhood education and education reform efforts in Dallas. She led the effort to raise the startup funding for one of the first charter schools to open in Dallas, Lindsley Park Community School, and served on the Board of Directors of East Dallas Community School for over 10 years. She is the current Board Chair of The Lamplighter School and Vice Chair of the Advisory Board of Teach for America Dallas Fort Worth.
 
Outside of education and the arts, Rose is a current member of the Executive Committee of Southwestern Medical Foundation as well as Charter 100 and the Dallas Assembly. A graduate of Harvard College with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, Rose and her husband are collectors of 20th century photography, contemporary art and design. Together they have three sons.
