Get unfiltered advice and support from Teach For America alumni leaders.
CONNECT is a two-month-long mentorship program for early admitted corps members seeking to gain unfiltered advice. You’ll get one-on-one insight that will help you better understand TFA and the impact you’ll make.
Using the newly launched Facebook Mentorship Program, you’ll have the opportunity to browse and learn more about each mentor. From there, you will select an alumni mentor based on their experience, regional placement, career, or other factors that you are interested in learning more about.
During the mentorship program, you’ll have the opportunity to meet virtually with your mentor approximately every other week for two months to discuss topics ranging from life in corps, career opportunities, questions and concerns, and more.
“The CONNECT mentorship opportunity gave me the chance to gain a deeper understanding of my role as an early admitted TFA corps member. Each call was helpful and reassured me of my decision to join TFA.”
Will I get matched with the mentor I choose?
Yes! You can self-select your mentor. However, please note that each alumni leader will mentor up to two early admitted corps members. Therefore, our mentor-mentee matches are first-come-first-served.
What should I consider when selecting my mentor?
Whatever criteria you choose to be important is what you should consider when selecting your mentor. Consider what you’re struggling with to understand about TFA or joining the corps and select a mentor who will be able to help you navigate these considerations. They will be able to give you real, unfiltered advice about the experience that will help you make decisions and next steps.
When can I sign up?
You can begin signing up for the CONNECT Facebook Group immediately. Once you are in the group, you will be able to peruse and select your mentor. From there, you and your mentor can kick-off your virtual mentorship.
