Teach For America virtual COMMUNITIES provide a welcoming space where early admitted corps members can come together and connect with their peers and TFA alumni.
About
Think of it like meeting others face-to-face at a coffee shop for a meaningful discussion. You'll hear from TFA alumni, explore topics relating to identity, and gain insight into your potential for impact and systems change in the corps.

Leading as a First-Year Teacher |
Brene Brown said, “A leader is anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential.” As a first-year teacher, you will have the potential to lead within and outside of the classroom. Join our conversation as we discuss what leadership can look like in your first year of teaching and how you can live out a sustainable year, while also stepping into new and uncomfortable spaces as a teacher leader for your students, families, community, and staff. October 21 7pm EST / 4pm PST |
Reflect, Dialogue, and Learn from Each Other
In past years, early admitted corps members found our virtual spaces to be a great opportunity to engage in healthy and ongoing dialogue with peers, alumni, and other corps members. The webinar format offers time to better understand issues like diversity awareness, the educational landscape, and current events impacting the classroom and school environments.
See the table above to learn more about each community offered, topics for upcoming calls, and how to sign up for these virtual spaces to meet and learn with people who share your identity markers.
“I am somebody that my students may not have otherwise encountered. Using my identity to enlighten my students about the variety of cultures that exist in the world and to break stereotypes has been so crucial to me.”
