PHOENIX, Sept. 16, 2026—Teach For America (TFA) Phoenix recently announced the appointment of Ron Butler to its regional board of directors. A longtime champion of educational excellence and community leadership, Butler returns to the board after previously serving seven years, including as Board Chair from 2017 to 2019.

In his role on the board, Butler will contribute alongside representatives from the civic, philanthropic, and corporate sectors to broaden pathways into the teaching profession and promote meaningful gains in student success.

“It’s an honor to rejoin the Teach For America Phoenix’s board. During my seven years of prior service, I saw firsthand the profound impact this organization has on students, educators, and communities across our region,” said Ron Butler.

Butler recently retired as Ernst & Young Arizona’s Managing Partner after 34 years in management and executive leadership. A trusted advisor to Fortune 500 C-suite executives, corporate boards, and audit committees, he brings experience across professional services, technology, energy, mining and metals, and consumer products, with expertise in financial and strategic planning, operational effectiveness, digital transformation, and corporate governance.

Butler has also held senior governance roles across prominent civic and professional organizations. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Arizona Community Foundation, Expect More Arizona, Teach For America Phoenix, and Downtown Phoenix Partnership. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Education Forward Arizona, as an Executive Board Member of the Ellis Center for Educational Excellence, and as a member of the University of Arizona Eller College National Board of Advisors. His extensive governance experience and longstanding commitment to educational opportunity make him a valuable addition to the board.
