Apply for no more than three positions at a time. Your cover letter and experience should reflect the positions you are applying for.
Due to candidate volume, we typically only contact candidates moving forward. If invited, you'll get an email with resources on life at TFA, our values, and our offices.
First interviews are typically by phone. Share your past accomplishments and your interest in and fit with the role. If you've applied to multiple positions, we'll only consider you for the roles you're best suited for.
After your initial interview, you may be invited to one or more additional interviews with the hiring manager and other team members. The number of interviews varies by role and candidate.
Once our hiring managers have identified a finalist, they will talk to the candidate’s references. This is to get another lens on the candidate’s strengths and areas of development.
Not necessarily. TFA runs on a wide range of functions, including recruitment, marketing, program design, career development, operations, data, and more. What matters most is a genuine commitment to expanding opportunity for kids and the communities we work in. That said, lived experience in education or in the communities TFA serves is something we value and look for.
TFA offers opportunities across a wide range of teams, including recruitment, marketing, communications, technology, people and culture, operations, finance, regional programming, and leadership development. Full-time, part-time, and seasonal opportunities are available throughout the year.
Many staff members build long-term careers at TFA through internal mobility, leadership development opportunities, and cross-functional experiences. Others leverage the skills and network they build at TFA to advance their impact in education, nonprofits, government, and the private sector.
