Since 1991, Teach For America Houston has worked alongside our partners throughout our city to create opportunities for children in our most underserved communities.
Over the past 30 years, the corps members and alumni of Teach For America Houston have played an integral role in the progress for students in Houston. At the center of our contribution is the belief that all children deserve an excellent education and that it will take exceptional leadership at every layer of the system to achieve this vision.
In order to accelerate progress for students, we must activate our diverse network of over 1,700+ leaders to fuel systemic changes in education in Houston. We must leverage the scale and diversity of our network to drive innovation, learning, and collective action.
To this end, we have set an ambitious goal that by 2030, twice as many children in the communities where we work will reach key educational milestones indicating they are on a path to economic mobility and co-creating a future filled with possibility. In Houston, we aim to achieve this goal and position all of our students to attend “A” rated school districts.
