Happy International Children's Book Day

April 2, 2015
International Children April 2 is International Children’s Book Day (and Hans Christian Anderson's birthday)! We’re celebrating by digging into some of our all-time favorite children's books--and taking a trip around the globe while we're at it. Where to start? The aspiring children's librarian Amy Broadmoore, who pens the amazing blog Delightful Children's Books, complied an epic list of international children's books that are organized by continent, and could be adapted for many different classrooms. She writes:

My kids and I have had fun taking two imaginary trips around the world. Our trips have consisted of choosing a new continent every couple of weeks and reading stories set in that continent. During our second trip, I compiled booklists of the very best books I could find...I searched for stories that entertain as well as give kids information about what it is like to live in a different part of the world today.
