Board members aim to build TFA alumni community, knowledge, advocacy and service, inside and outside of the classroom.

Teach For America Washington is excited to announce its new alumni board, a volunteer group charged with supporting the more than 950 alumni across the state who work together to advance educational equity.
The board is comprised of twelve TFA alumni who currently work in diverse sectors such as technology, education, business, and law. They aim to engage in collective actions that will help close the opportunity gap for children in low-income communities and provide a network of support for alumni as they advance their careers.
The council is led by Natalie Hanni, the Managing Director of Alumni Leadership and Community Engagement for Teach For America-Washington. A Washington native with an M.Ed in education policy and management from Harvard Graduate School of Public Education, Natalie taught for four years in Washington D.C. and has more than seven years of experience coaching and mentoring teachers in her home state.
“Washington has one of the fastest growing alumni bases in the country, at the same time we have one of the most persistent opportunity gaps for children in under-resourced communities,” Hanni said. “We hope to harness the energy of our growing base to connect them to opportunities inside and outside of the classroom to improve outcomes for kids.”
