Omar (Phoenix ’05) grew up in El Paso, Texas and graduated from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania before joining the corps.  He taught high school math (including AP calculus and IB math) for six years, including two years serving as the math department chair.  Omar transitioned to law school at the University of Arizona, during which time he interned at the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of Washington (Seattle).  Omar now works for the law firm Davis Wright Tremaine in Seattle, as a business and tax attorney.  He continues to be active in the education arena through various civic engagements, including serving as a director for Summit Public Schools in Washington.
