Hana leads Teach For America’s national Teacher Preparation Team. Her team is responsible for holding and evolving the organization’s point of view on pre-service teacher leadership development, operating summer training institutes that prepare incoming corps members for the responsibilities of teacher leadership and consulting with regions that operate local institute sites. Prior to assuming leadership of the team in late 2016, she served as Senior Managing Director of Learning and Innovation, overseeing the implementation of program pilots and partnering with other national team leaders on grant strategy. Hana joined the national team in 2014 after launching the Massachusetts Regional Institute; under her leadership, the institute dramatically surpassed network-wide performance goals. She was a 2008 Bay Area corps member and she joined full-time staff in 2010 as a Manager of Teacher Leadership Development on the Massachusetts team. Hana holds a BA in History from Harvard College and an M.Ed in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
