Born in Tokyo and raised primarily in Boulder, Colorado and Okinawa, Japan, Andi began her political career as an intern in Senator Michael Bennet’s northern Colorado field office. After teaching 4th grade in Lexington, Mississippi for two years, Andi worked for Teach For America as a leadership coach, professional development instructor, and facilitator for the Deep South LGBT Resource Group and National Asian American and Pacific Islander Corps Member Summit.
While working for Teach for America-Hawai’i as Manager of Values, Diversity, and Culture, Andi joined Hillary Clinton’s 2016 Presidential Campaign as a Field Organizer for the Hawai’i Democratic Caucus. She relocated to Nevada to serve as Special Projects Director in Hillary for America’s Las Vegas campaign headquarters for the general election, assisting executive leaders and staffing major campaign rallies and events. Following the election, Andi worked in the Assembly Majority Leadership office for Nevada’s 79th Legislative Session.
