Berube works in Providence Public Schools as Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Prior to this role, she served as an Educator Quality and Certification Specialist at the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE). Prior to joining the team at RIDE, Berube worked on school turnaround in several Providence public schools, as a consultant with Cambium Learning Group. Before her move to Rhode Island, Berube was the Founding Principal at the Urban Assembly Academy of Civic Engagement in the Bronx, NY and was a New Leaders New Schools resident in New York City Public Schools. Berube is a 2000 RGV Teach for America Alum who served as a 6-12 mathematics teacher in McAllen, Texas and mathematics coach in Manhattan, New York. Berube is a graduate of Tulane University and has a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from Syracuse University and a master’s in Education Administration from Pace University. Finally, she is a proud mother of three children, Violeta, Rosette Rodriguez, and Lilyana Rodriguez who are current and future scholars at Achievement First in Providence, RI.
