Khadijah grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended Ramsay High School, a TFA placement school. Motivated by a strong appreciation for and focus on education from her family, she went on to receive her B.A. from Tuskegee University in psychology and biology and J.D. from University of Arkansas School of Law. She externed for the Wal-Mart Corporation in their Real Estate Legal Department prior to returning to her home state, Alabama.
Khadijah was a 2006 South Louisiana corps member and taught high school science for three years where she was named teacher of the year at her school in her first year. She joined TFA staff in 2007 and worked in a variety of roles, including two years as the Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Development in Alabama. In the fall of 2013, Khadijah transitioned into the role of Executive Director. Under her leadership, she has seen Teach For America – Alabama continuously raise the bar of success for students and teachers. She is excited to continue serving her home state and some of the very schools that she attended in Alabama.
