Backwards planning—starting with a big goal and then working backwards to develop a plan to get there—has been so important. Learning what motivates people and then investing them in your plans. Teaching can be very similar to working with board members, or in politics.

My teaching experience inspired me to work toward equity through the lens of medicine. Like I did in the corps, I plan to work in underserved and low-resource areas where physicians are needed most. I currently spend a portion of my time working in rural Alaska to help patients in areas.
