Speaker: Veronica Aguilar, Assistant Vice President Arizona State University
Veronica Aguilar is the founder and chair of Young & Empowered Women. Veronica brings a unique and diverse background in non-profit, mentorship, career development, service, K-12 and higher education. Prior to launching Young & Empowered Women, Veronica served as a Teach For America corps member teaching 4th grade at ASU Preparatory Academy. She then joined the Teach For America recruitment team and recruited over 350+ college students to teach in low-income communities across the country. Veronica’s passion for serving others, led her to arrive in her current role as Assistant Vice President at Arizona State University. She works to provide strategy, direction and oversight to increase the number of students to enroll and receive access to a college education. Veronica is also a Co-host on Arizona PBS ‘Break It Down’ segment that takes a deep dive into hot topic issues involving race, equity, politics and social impact.
