Equity Talks: Dismantling an Ableist Society

On-Demand - View anytime

Our virtual series Equity Talks is back! Get ready for more candid, timely, and live discussions on the importance and nuances of creating diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities.

Each month, we link up with the most dynamic Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion leaders to break down what we can do to cultivate safe spaces that everyone can live and thrive in.

This event has ended, but you can watch the recorded webinar here In this event, we’ll explore the ways ableism creates stealthy, systemic, and societal inequities for people with varied abilities and what we can do to dismantle our deeply embedded ableist tendencies to create more inclusive communities.

Our guest speaker will be Imani Barbarin, a disability and inclusion activist who uses her voice to elevate conversations about the disabled community. As a Black woman with cerebral palsy, Imani uses her lived experience, provocative hashtags, and thought-provoking blogs to shed light on what it’s like to navigate life with a disability. In addition to running her Crutches and Spice blog and podcast, she’s also been featured in publications such as Forbes and Healthline. Get to know her more when you attend our next Equity Talks event!
