Initial license is a 4 year resident educator license which is a 4 year teacher mentoring program.
In order to teach in Southwest Ohio, corps members must be able to obtain a valid four year resident educator license. To that end, corps members must:
- Demonstrate that they have received a bachelor’s degree
- Pass a background check
- Take and pass the Praxis II Assessments in their content area (or ACTFL assessments for Spanish / ESL)
- Complete Teach For America Institute and be hired by a school in Ohio
