Thank You For Your Support

Teach For America South Dakota Region is so grateful for our existing supporters. All gifts help our effort to recruit, select, train and support corps members and alumni.

Partner Spotlight

With the support of Governor Daugaard and key members of the Senate and House, in 2012 the state of South Dakota established a one to one matching growth fund of $250,000 for Teach For America - South Dakota. For every dollar we raise privately, we will receive a match from the state to help accelerate momentum for our 2015 growth plan.

Event Spotlight

Teach For America - South Dakota’s annual alumni induction formally welcomes the outgoing corps members into our alumni movement after their initial two years of service. It celebrates and honors what they have accomplished with their students, and looks to the future as they expand the scope of their impact. At this year’s event at the Crazy Horse Memorial, the entire 2010 and 2011 corps were in attendance, as well as most of the alumni who continue to teach in South Dakota. Our honored guests included State Senator Stan Adelstein and John Spotted Tail, a representative of the Rosebud Sioux Tribal government. Two seniors from Little Wound High School spoke about the ways corps members had pushed them in the classroom and expanded their horizons. Both also expressed their desire to join Teach For America after graduating from college to teach in South Dakota.
