Where Corps Members Teach
Los Angeles corps members currently teach at 107 schools across three school districts, four early childhood education centers, and 18 charter management organizations ranging from South Pasadena in the northeast to Compton in the southern area of the city. Teaching placements are available in early childhood education, bilingual education, special education, general subject at the elementary and middle school level, and specific subject secondary placements at the high school level. There are currently 295 corps members serving 21,000 students across Los Angeles, the majority of whom are Latino and African American.
Get to Know Endeavor College Prep Middle School
In East L.A., Endeavor College Prep (ECP) is a charter middle school founded in 2009 by Michelle Jasso, a ’99 Baltimore alumnae. More than 90% of ECP’s students are Latino, 80% will be the first in their families to graduate from college, and 93% qualify for free and reduced lunch. Michelle’s staff is currently 66% Teach For America corps members and alumni.
