Certification Information

Corps members teaching in Delaware receive their certification by completing a course of study at Wilmington University that is specially designed for Teach For America corps members, with classes offered one evening a week in an executive-style format.  Wilmington University also offers corps members the opportunity to receive master’s degrees via a two-year Master of Elementary Education (MEE) program for elementary teachers or a one-year Master of Arts in Secondary Teaching (MAS) program for secondary teachers.  Most corps members choose to apply their AmeriCorps awards to their Wilmington University tuition, and a result are able to obtain their certification and master’s degrees while incurring little if any out-of-pocket cost.
