Spotlight on the Mississippi Delta

The Mississippi Delta community is calling for entrepreneurial teachers. Last year, we placed 285 corps members in the Delta—making it our second largest region—because of the vast needs in these communities.

New Placement Regions

School districts are asking Teach For America to bring more corps members to their communities because of their impact in the classroom and their ability to lead long-term reform efforts. The enormity of the achievement gap calls for us to expand our reach. Starting in the 2010-11 school year, we will be placing corps members in Alabama, Detroit, Rhode Island, and San Antonio.
