New York City alumni will come together on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the Marriott Marquis to hear from leaders in politics, education, policy, the private sector, and other fields; to access skills, knowledge, and volunteer and career opportunities; to reconnect with and strengthen our alumni community; and to network with hundreds of professionals who are deeply committed to our vision.

8:30 9:30 a.m.	Registration and Breakfast
9:30 11:15 a.m.	Welcome and Featured Speakers Our day will open with remarks from Wendy Kopp, founder and CEO of Teach For America. Jeffrey Toobin, staff writer for The New Yorker and senior analyst at CNN, will then moderate a panel focused on the intersection of politics, accountability and education reform in New York City, featuring New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Deputy Mayor for Education and Community Development Dennis Walcott, Congressman Anthony Weiner, and New York City Comptroller William C. Thompson, Jr.
11:30 a.m. 12:45 p.m.	Morning Sessions Sessions in both the morning and afternoon will create a space for provocative dialogue and provide strategies and next steps for taking concrete action. We will engage diverse perspectives – from alumni and from our partners in this work – to develop ideas, build skills, and explore resources to better equip us as we work toward educational equity from all sectors. 2:00 2:45 p.m.	Keynote Speakers Jemina Bernard, executive director of Teach For America – New York City, will introduce and honor Joel Klein, New York City Schools chancellor, for his enduring commitment to the children and schools of New York City and for his continued support of Teach For America.

4:30 5:30 p.m.	Closing We will hear from alumni who are leading some of our city’s and nation’s biggest education reform efforts, and close the day with a student performance.
