Challenge Grant Inspires Additional $112,000 in Corporate Funding Support From JPMorgan Chase, Nine Others

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - November 29, 2011 -LibertyGives, the charitable foundation of the Liberty Media Corporation (Nasdaq: LMCA, LMCB) today announced it has awarded a three-year, $75,000 challenge grant to Teach For America-Colorado. The grant, launched in July, called on other corporate donors to match or exceed LibertyGives’ initial gift. The LibertyGives grant generated an additional $112,000 of corporate funding support that will support the ongoing recruitment, training and professional development of Teach For America teachers, also known as corps members, in the Colorado Springs and Denver areas.

“Our teachers are committed to empowering their students to reach their fullest potential,” said Sean VanBerschot, executive director of Teach For America in Colorado. “The broad support of LibertyGives and our business community makes their work possible and fuels the community effort to ensure every Colorado child has access to the excellent education they deserve.”

Teach For America, which has been a member of the Colorado education community since 2007, is the national corps of outstanding recent college graduates who commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and become lifelong leaders in expanding educational opportunity.  This year in Colorado, 330 corps members are reaching nearly 21,000 students. Another 550 alumni call Colorado home and work from all sectors to ensure educational excellence and equity for all students.

Inspired by the $75,000 challenge grant from LibertyGives, JPMorgan Chase contributed $35,000 in funding which is directly supporting seven Teach For America teachers at West High School in Denver.
