Finding housing on a teacher's salary is fairly easy all across the Rio Grande Valley, and rentals are very affordable. Teach For America • Rio Grande Valley corps members often share two to four bedroom ranch-style houses or duplexes in residential neighborhoods or apartments. Apartments are plentiful, with most corps members opting for smaller complexes with swimming pools and security gates. About 80 percent of corps members live with others in the corps. Some members have even managed to rent small houses in the Rio Grande Valley's orange groves or on country ranches.
