Our placement regions

Teach For America currently places corps members in 35 urban and rural areas where they are needed most - and will be expanding to additional regions in 2010. To learn more about each region, click on a name below.

Regional assignment

Applicants invited to attend a final interview indicate their preferences for regions, grade levels, and subject areas, and receive their assignment once they are accepted to Teach For America. Learn more about our assignment process.

Expansion sites

School districts are asking Teach For America to bring more corps members to their communities because of their impact in the classroom and their ability to lead long-term reform efforts. Given the enormity of the problem we are addressing, we intend to expand our efforts. Starting in the 2009-10 school year, we will be placing corps members in Dallas, Greater Boston, Milwaukee, Nashville, Twin Cities, and Tulsa. In the 2010-11 school year, we will add San Antonio, Rhode Island, and Alabama.
