Curriculum specialists deliver high-impact sessions to ensure that corps members master the Teaching As Leadership model. They are driven by the desire to share knowledge with new teachers and build their instructional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with corps member advisors, literacy specialists, and school directors to identify corps member needs and plan accordingly
- Plan and facilitate learning experiences to prepare corps members to be successful teachers in the fall
Long-Term Leadership:
- Prepare for leadership and management roles by learning how to motivate and develop the skills of adults
- Further develop teaching skills by facilitating meaningful learning experiences
- Build knowledge base of what it takes to help teachers impact students’ academic achievement
Qualified applicants:
- Are excellent teachers with strong orientation toward achievement
- Are strong facilitators and presenters to large groups
- Have a strong mastery of pedagogy and a deep investment in the Teaching As Leadership model
- Operate with respect and humility among diverse groups
- Preferably have 3+ years of teaching experience by the start of the institute
