Curriculum Coordinator

About the Role

 

Curriculum coordinators ensure that curriculum specialists have the training and support that they need to build knowledge and instructional skills in new corps members.

"The curriculum coordinator role is crucial because you train the people at institute who directly model teaching for our corps members. TheCC must challenge and encourage her team; she must be a forward thinker and yet be reflective. Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with other staff members to develop and facilitate conferences and training sessions for curriculum specialists
• Providing ongoing support and feedback to curriculum specialists
• Serving as a member of the institute leadership team and as a resource to summer school leaders

Long-Term Leadership:

• Experience creating and facilitating professional development experiences

• Experience coaching and leading adults

Qualified applicants:

• Possess knowledge of and demonstrate ease in working with adult learners
• Achieve results through others
• Are experienced in working with new teachers in professional development settings – including observing other teachers and giving feedback, providing guidance to new teachers in their planning, and facilitating group discussion – preferred, but not required
• Preferably have 3+ years of teaching experience by the start of the institute and 1+ years of experience coaching teachers, as well as experience as a curriculum specialist
