  • Two-year deferrals for students who receive job offers from Google and are also accepted into Teach For America.
  • Google mentor for corps members during their two-year corps experience.

Deferral Partnership Details

  • In order to be eligible for a Google deferral, candidates must apply to Teach For America by November 7, 2008. Applications submitted to Teach For America after November 7 will be evaluated on a case by case basis for deferral eligibility. All Teach For America applications must be completed and submitted via www.teachforamerica.org.
  • Once a candidate has been accepted by Teach For America and has a full-time offer from one of the participating Google business groups, the candidate must inform Google that s/he would like to apply for a two-year deferral through the
    Google - Teach For America partnership.
  • Teach For America applicants have one week to confirm whether they will join the corps after they are notified of acceptance. Deferral candidates that require extra time to coordinate their deferral may e-mail Teach For America’s admissions team (admissions@teachforamerica.org) to request a decision extension.
