1. Online Application

The online application consists of:

• Personal, academic, and/or professional information
• Resume
• Letter of intent

2. Phone Interview

The 30-minute phone interview allows us to learn more about you. Tell us about your accomplishments, the way you approach problems, and your views on educational inequity. You’ll also have a chance to ask us questions.

3. Final Interview

The day-long, in-person final interview will allow you to demonstrate your strengths in a variety of contexts. You’ll participate in individual and group activities including a five-minute sample teaching lesson, group discussion, problem solving activity, and personal interview. In addition, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the Teach For America experience, including training, ongoing support, life as a corps member, and the opportunities that await you as alumni.

4. The Offer

Congratulations, and welcome to Teach For America! The offer includes your regional placement and tentative grade and subject assignment. You’ll be connected with our team to start learning about the unique role you will play as a corps member.

Important Things to Know

• All applicants are required to submit the online application for interview consideration.
• Some applicants may be invited directly to a final interview without attending a phone interview. This happens when a candidate's application provides us with enough information to determine a high likelihood of reaching the finalist round.
• All applicants invited to attend an interview are required to complete the Online Written Activity.
• Final interviews are required for admission to Teach For America. Applicants who are directly invited to final interviews will be assessed on the same scale as other applicants.
